Restarting sound??

Post by georgetoon »

I'm running Linux Mint Daryna. I've had a few instances where the sound suddenly stopped. I kill the process (artsd) and restart the sound in system settings, but it's no help. Logging off and logging back on is no help, either. A complete restart of the OS is needed.

Is there a way to restart the sound without having to do a complete restart of the OS?

I'm revisitng this thread to report that this comand in the terminal isn't working. is there another method? Now, I have to reboot the entire system. the sound bombed when I plugged in my USB external drive.
