Then connect the mp3 player and run lsusb and post the result

Ah - there was a mp3 player too...
Not present in lsusb, don't know why and consequently also don't know what kind
Can you try to find out as much as possible about it.
I don't recognize that kind of behaviour, and I for sure have not experienced it myself (but lots of other strange things
)
