Sound on Macbook pro?

Can i get my sound on my MacBook Pro working with Linux Mint? And how?
I could with Ubuntu, but not with Linux Mint

Btw. can i get inkscpe and/or Gimp working my new Wacom Pad?

In your case I think it's simply something that's muted - go through every sound setting, begin with double clicking the speaker next to the clock

Yeah i could be. but im pretty sure thats its not. i have unmutet everything. and i have PCM as device to control.

I know that we have Macbook pro users and sound is not something I see mentioned in connection with it

Btw. there is a red light coming out of my headphone female mini jack stick. does anyone know what that means? it doesnt do that when i'm in Leopard

This is pretty much standard ICH8 so solutions for ICH8 should work
