Hi everybody,
in Mint 5, there was a file name message.elyssa in /etc/grub. In Mint 6 this file doesn't exist, then I searched for message.felicia, and the only file I found is gnome.message in /boot/gfxmenu.
Can you tell me is gnome.message is the new message.elyssa ?
Thanks.
Bye.

Yes, but I'm not sure if they are quite compatible, we did change a bit (because we had to)
Re: is gnome.message replaced message.elyssa ?
Hi Husse,
ok, I know now that gnome.message is the "new" message.elyssa.
I have other questions about grub and gfxmenu of Mint :
- Do you know how to modify a .tr file (ex: en.tr) ? because I want to translate it in French.
- Do you know how to translate the entire Grub gfxmenu of linux Mint (menulist, etc) ?
Then I will give you all files translated (fr.tr, fr.hlp and others files if necessary).
Bye and thanks for your help.

This is a bit over my head. But this is something we're grateful for.
I'll see if someone in the team is interested and if so he'll get back to you

Hi Linux Mint team,
I made fr.hlp and fr.tr. I also modified isolinux.cfg and isolinux.txt for french people. These files are for the first boot screen of the LiveDVD. If you are interested, I can send you these files.

Re: is gnome.message replaced message.elyssa ?
I think the holiday season brings things to a halt right now
Re: is gnome.message replaced message.elyssa ?
Ok, I keep the files for now. When you are ready, tell me.

Re: is gnome.message replaced message.elyssa ?
I do have translations of the help somewhere, but I'm not sure if it's up to date.
I have tried compiling the translations into the message file, but had problems.
I got it to load but I think it automatically switches the keyboard layout.
I had it so you could switch the language but changing it caused problems.
When I get more time I'll try again.
I am thinking of just using one language for each message file.

Hi merlwiz79,
I can send you the files I made (fr.hlp and fr.tr for first boot screen of the LiveDVD) and (fr.hlp and fr.tr for grub-gfxboot Mint screen). I made them last days for Mint 6 Felicia.
If you received my personnal message, I said that I had modify directly isolinux.cfg and isolinux.txt in isolinux directory of the iso file to have french translations. Now, I can choose english or french in liveDVD boot screen without problems.
For grub-gfxboot, only menu list is still in english, else, it's translated in french. I made a gnome.message with english and french files, but I put a file named : lang, where I defined only : fr . When I boot, a part of the screen is in French (Bottom of the screen).
Tell me if you are interested by my files, I will give you them.
