i tried to learn python and so i got to the python website and i did the installation, btw i have a beginning python by my side. In the book it says thers a python shell/IDLE but in my mint i cant seem to open that IDLE... Any python programmer or anybody help me with this problem and also advise me on which ver. of python should i use..







P.S. I am a newbie at both linux and programming

I think what you are looking for is "idle". You can install it from adept, it's in the repositories.
