mint4win issues

Hi guys, I'm trying to install Mint using mint4win, but I always get the error about the installer failing to access the cd at the end of the 'creating image' part of the install. Can anyone shed any light on this? The checksums are correct, re-burnt the cd just to check too. In case it makes a difference, I'm using Vista x64 SP1.

Put the iso and the mint4win.exe in the same folder.
Now remove the cd from the drive.
Just double click the mint4win.exe and install the Linux Mint Main.
The x64 bit version isn't out yet.

The stupid thing is that did not work for me!!

I tried that as that was a solution to a similar problem with wubi, but mint4win did not appear to see the LinuxMint6.iso file and instead tried to download! Unfortunately it tried to download the 64 bit iso which is not yet available and the drop down box for version had ONLY the 64 bit version available for selection!

It cannot have been a problem with the iso as when I burnt it to a DVD rather than a CD it installed OK

Open up the command prompt, navigate to the folder where mint4win.exe and the iso file are and run the following command (without apostrophes):

'mint4win.exe --32bit'

this forces it to install with the 32bit edition, rather than download the (nonexistant) 64bit edition.

Aaahh OK!

I will remember that if I need to install from another CD! As I said I solved the problem by writing the iso to a DVD so have installed OK now!

Hi! I tried installing with mint4win.exe with the cd still inserted in, and the mint4win in a folder along with the iso file... using the command prompt solution provided here on this page...

I couldn't get it to work... please can someone here guide to what I've done wrong??

EDIT: Just saw this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uaJ6Pv0VU24 ... maybe I rebooted to linux instead of windows, that's why it's showing this error... thinking of double clicking mint4win.exe again... if it doesn't work, Will have to remove linux mint from windows and reinstall it using mint4win...

Unfortunately the install of Mint7 with mint4win.
time process searching mint-backup, cannot process with message eror please connect to the internet.
but my PC have been connect internet..

Make sure the iso and mint4win.exe is in the same folder.
Then open the console and cd to the correct folder.
If your trying to install the Main(32bit) in a Windows 64bit then use the command:
