Hard drive not listed in Fdisk

Post by Huit »

I installed mint and my partitioned ntfs drive containing windows installation and another store of files mounted as normal (on clicking). I then added "auto" to a field under properties which i thought was the mount options and thinking that this would mount on boot. Now on restart the drives aren't recognising giving the error "Invalid mount option when attempting to mount the volume 'x'.. The drive isn't even listed in fstab, though is accessible normally in windows...Can anyone help me trouble shoot this?

Yay, just managed to mount manually (sorry new to using terminal) by creating a directory and doing "mount /dev/ ...." but i'll look at those links to see if I can repair the normal functionality. Also thanks for being so prompt :)

Agh, okay so i can mount manually but no good on automounting still. Here's my current fstab

# /etc/fstab: static file system information.
#
# <file system> <mount point> <type> <options> <dump> <pass>
proc /proc proc defaults 0 0
# /dev/sdb1
UUID=0e76207c-f285-48fa-a463-eb5b5c5c0fa5 / ext3 relatime,errors=remount-ro 0 1
# /dev/sdb5
UUID=1841b308-1ed6-4fe7-9047-0eaec58d4f1c none swap sw 0 0
# /dev/sda1 /media/windows ntfs defaults,umask=007,gid=46 0 0
# /dev/sda2 /media/666 ntfs defaults,umask=007,gid=46 0 0
