as for native Linux games I've so far found only a few worth mentioning:
Tremulous:
mod based on the Unreal 3 engine - a VERY playable FPS with a bit of strategy... I've actually stopped playing Counter-Strike Source for this game
Ur-Quan Masters:
The reworked BEST GAME OF ALL TIME - Star Control 2. Even after all this years I still love this game - and now and than I manage to get one of my friends to play it in spite of the TERRIBLY outdated graphics - it usually ends with someone not sleeping for 2-3 days due to playing starcontrol
SuperTux:
Very nice arcade, super mario like
(all of these are in repos)
if anyone else has experience with native linux games I'd also like to hear some input..

If you're into classic adventure games : sudo apt-get install flight-of-the-amazon-queen
It's using scummvm: http://www.scummvm.org/
Also, you can install DOS emulators and use to play a huge collection of DOS games.
That's if you like old classic games of course

Now where was i going? Oh yes, crazy!
People, I warmly suggest you to try any of Introversion's games:
http://www.introversion.co.uk
All of them have Linux patches, and they are AWESOME (and original). They're not free, though (but they do are cheap),
