We need more information to be able to offer you any solution at all. You have to provide these informations, at the very least:
- Processor make and model. *
- Amount of system RAM.
- Mainboard chipset. *
- Windows version from which you installed Mint.
*: These items can be substituted with the make and model of your desktop/notebook system.

You could use any utilities that give you system information on Windows. Or you could tell us the make and model of your laptop, which are generally imprinted somewhere on the display lid or on the bottom side of the laptop.

My experience with Wubi/Mint4Win is pretty subpar. All solutions for boot up problems that spring into mind involve adding some kernel boot options--which I do not know how with Mint4Win installs.

You have the right to use your laptop without any kind of technical restrictions from your school even though you bought it from them--because it is legally yours now.
