Mint x64 needs its own forum

Post by locutus »

Mint x64-final is installed and running smoothly. But it really should have its own section under the "Editions" section; after all,it isn't called "CE Editions". Might clear up a lot of confusion of where to post, as well as an endless series of 2nd posts in any given topic in the main forum that merely asks "What edition are you running?".

That's a good idea and you make valid points. Maybe Husse will consider what you have suggested. Your suggestion would make support clearer and more organized.

Well if you like my first suggestion -- and its usefulness in clearing up confusion of where, exactly, to post -- then how about merging the two sections? So there would still be a Newby section ("All Gurus once were Newbies " - I like that!) but instead of waaaay down the page, right below the Newby - Main Edition section would be all the rest: KDE, XFCE, x64 etc in a section called "Edition Specific Questions" or something like that?

Maybe instead of having "Support" and "Editions" both on the front page, stick "Editions" first, remove "Support" from the main page, and stick it within every Edition section, so every Edition can have the subselection of newbie questions. installations, hardware support, etc
