Internal mic not working on hp dv9000

Post by cespinal »

Im sorry to bother you guys again with this... but im coming back with this old and unsolved problem.

I have linux mint 5 installed on my hp dv 9000. Everything works great but I have never been able to get the internal mic to work. Im carrying with this problem since I first used linux almost a year ago when I got Ubuntu.

The only thing I have found out is that my alsamixer lacks many of the features other laptops have, as shown in the attached picture.

i hope you could help me give it another try. Im really starting to miss skype :(

Under view you are under Playback.
Try looking at All or Capture.

The only thing I found that might work is to install OSS4 and use skype-static-oss.

whoa, that OSS installation really intimidates me, Im really not sure if I can go through it without breaking something...

I guess Im sticking with ALSA for the moment :(

thank you very much anyway
