Hmm - I've only seen this in an unreleased version....
The live cd is to be in the bay the whole time - it may be that

It should not download anything
I'll ask merlwiz79 about this - he is the guy behind mit4win

Which edition?
The main, x64 or XFCE CE RC?
If the cd is in the bay use lmmenu.exe.
It shouldn't need to download anything if the cd is in the cdrom dirve.
If the files on the cd are corrupt then it'll try to download the iso.
If it's the XFCE CE RC then it's not setup on our servers for it to download.
That's only for the Final.
There is a log in the temp dir.
Example: C:\Users\merlwiz79\AppData\Local\Temp

Which edition?
The RCs aren't setup to download anything.
The mint4win checks the md5sum of the files on the iso, maybe it's a bad burn.
Launch min4win and it should detect that it's in the cdrom drive and create a iso from it.

I am using vista home premium, if anyone has a solution to how I can resolve this it will be very much appreciated.
Which edition are you using?

Does your pc have a 64 bit cpu and you want to install the 32bit distro?
If it is copy the mint4win.exe to the same folder as the iso and run from cmd mint4win.exe --32bit
Well if the md5sum doesn't isn't correct then it downloads the iso.
You could copy the mint4win.exe to the same folder as the iso.
Then launch it.
It'll then download the file needed to check the iso info.
You should have only 1 download error.
It tries to download a file not needed to check the iso.
After the download fails it then decides it wasn't needed.

If it still doesn't work it could be that the iso is corrupt.

merlwiz79,

Is it possible that one of the early RC versions got out somehow and is getting distributed without your knowledge?

Just an idea.

I didn't think of that. :o
I believe the KDE CE did, not sure about the Fluxbox CE.
If it's an RC and the live cd has the incorrect md5sum then it can't download the iso.
None of the RCs are made to download the iso's.
All RCs have tested the mint4win install before releasing as an RC.
I have installed all RCs through mint4win with no problems, as did exploder, the developer of the CE and clem.
All RCs can only have mint4win create the iso from the Live cd from the cdrom drive.

merlwiz79,

It was just a wild guess on my part. I can't be much help since I have never even tried to do an install like that. Seen more than a few messes that were made with Wubi though. :-)
