After updating Linux Mint yesterday........Firefox has stopped working....it had complained before installation of the updates that thety were not authenticated.....is there a problem......any one else experienced this.
I have had to install opera to keep running...

Our repos don't have a key for authenticating.
You could try to purge and reinstall firefox.
apt remove --purge firefox-3.0
Then install everything it removes.
apt install firefox firefox-3.0 firefox-3.0-gnome-support
There is probably other packages it removes, just make sure to install those as well.

I've noticed (at least with windos) that firefox 3 crashes often. Firefox 2 works fine, in my experience.
