How do I scan for new hardware?
I just realised I had the floppy disabled in the bios during installation. Now I have the flppy enabled, but Mint 6 does not see the drive. there is no floppy in nautilus, or gnome device manager. Is there something I can run that will do device detection as it does during install?

Re: How do I scan for new hardware?
the easiest way i found was to add floppy to /etc/modules ie
# /etc/modules: kernel modules to load at boot time.
#
# This file contains the names of kernel modules that should be loaded
# at boot time, one per line. Lines beginning with "#" are ignored.
fuse
lp
floppy
under root.it's not enabled by default.
