Hi All,
My friend has a MSI - VR601 Lap Top computer with the above Wireless card fitted inside. Having installed Mint4Win he found that the wireless didn't work so trawling the internet we found the following instructions to fix the problem at:-
http://nc10linux.wordpress.com/2008/12/ ... ss-driver/
Going to Terminal, the following was typed....
sudo su
echo “blacklist ath_pci” >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
echo “blacklist ath_hal” >> /etc/modprobe.d/blacklist
exit
At this point, readers are pointed to http://wireless.kernel.org/download/com ... eless-2.6/ where he downloaded:-
http://wireless.kernel.org/download/com ... 26.tar.bz2
Continuing in Terminal, he entered the following instructions.
tar -jxf compat-wireless*.bz2
cd compat-wireless*
sudo make install
sudo make unload
sudo make load
After entering the required WPA info the wireless worked perfectly BUT!!!
Every time the LapTop is re-started, it is necessary to re type all the above [excluding downloading the driver] to get the wireless function to work.
Can someone please advise where the error is in the above commands that prevents the changes being saved.
Thanks for any help.
Griz.

Thanks Merlwiz79 for the link info. Have started to read it and with luck something there will prove useful.
Bit of 'information overload' but will persevere.
Thanks for taking the trouble to respond to my post.
