I was wondering (I'm a complete linux newbie, so I'm sure this is fairly obvious) what "functionality" would be given up with the XFCE edition? I have a lower range laptop (512 RAM, so I think I can go either way), so I figure that XFCE is the way to go but I want to make sure I'm not missing anything. Thanks in advance!
After using XFCE for almost a year now I find that it does everything I need it to.
It runs very fast on a low end Sempron system that is about 18 months old.
I believe that if you were to use XFCE you would not be disappointed.
