There are two guys who ask if it's possible to make the backup in another place than our home. Husse answered:
andI obviously don't know enough about mintBackup, no idea really - I tried it and it made a backup, put it in home and stopped after a while,
Can we now change the location of the backup? I guess we must change a setting in /usr/lib/linuxmint/mintBackup/mintBackup.py but as I'm not sure what to change I run this call for helpmintBackup is to have an overhaul and we are (painfully) aware of the problem with where to save the backup
P.S.= I support also JohnH about
1. With the hidden directories option a "select all" option would be handy.

EDIT
I just see the following app: SBackup (it is in the repos, I guess)
So this app makes what made mintBackup and even some things that mintBackup does not make or can not make, maybe not yet (see above) e.g "Backups can be written to local directory or remote servers using GNOME VFS technology." or "Regular backups can be scheduled."Simple Backup Suite for desktop use
Simple Backup Suite is a set of backend backup daemon and GNOME
GUI frontends that provide a simple yet powerful backup
solution for common desktop users.
Backups can be written to local directory or remote servers using
GNOME VFS technology. A fine control is possible regarding what
folders and files to backup. Files can be excluded even with a set
of regular expressions. Regular backups can be scheduled.
This tool has been written with Google sponsorship during Summer
of Code 2005 with mentoring help from Ubuntu.
So do we really need of mintBackup when SBackup makes the same work and even more?
I am not trying to criticize the work of Clem, btw thank you to him for what he gives us, but I am curious and in a research mode almost permanent...
But I must say that I don't try SBackup... yet!
Does someone tried it?
