Gradient panel

Hello! I have got a pretty nice wallpaper, but I am wondering about how to make the panel gradient.

I'm using MurrinaBlue theme. It would surely look better with the left half being red, don't you think?

You'll have to replace /usr/share/themes/MurrinaBlue/gtk-2.0/images/panel.png with a new one with your screen with...
Or tell me your screen with and I can make one for you.

It would be easier if you can give me the wallpaper, and how high you want the panel to be.

The wallpaper is actually widescreen, and it doesn't fit to the screen "that good", but it doesn't look bad either. I want it the same width (25 pixels), looking exactly like on the screenshot, but with the left half being red (gradient change).
