that looks like complete junk.
try commenting it out (put a # at the beginning of the line).
Yes you should be able to install all three OS's but grub might not correctly add the other mint linux. manual editing of the grub menu.lst may be required for other operating systems and definitely if you upgrade kernels in the other operating systems.

I was about to do what you are doing last night but ran out of time.
I'll give it a go tonight.

I installed mint kde with mint gnome and xp.
It all worked fine.
I can see the /,/dev/.static/dev only in gparted. I wouldn't worry about it since it is listing the mount point of the root partitions as / (correct) and as some other device mumbo jumbo (just to confuse you).
more later.

OMG it looks like you have 13 partitions on your hard disk! :o
I would be surpprised if there was that many though I have noticed some strange partition creation with auto partitioning at install.
in a terminal window could you run this command and post it here.
#sudo fdisk -l

This should list all partitions on your hard disk.

just what i thought!
alot of swap partitions created from installs.
you only need one swap that is 1.5 to 2x your ram size and point both mints at it. this is a manual config job.
you should have one swap that is the biggest (this will be the first one created from the first install).

using gparted if in gnome, delete all the swaps not being used (no padlock next to them).

If the one left is about 2x the size of your ram we will use it as your common swap.

If the swap left is not about 2X the size of your ram, then create a swap partition with the unallocated space that is 2x your ram as a swap partition.

*** BTW I don't know what all those FAT32 partitions are, you might be able to get rid of them too. make sure they are unmounted before trying to delete.

you now will have to edit your /etc/fstab to use the new swap space.

could you post your fstab.

### It maybe easier to start from scratch again ###

So if you want to start again with mint(s) this is the plan:
boot off mint cd
delete all partitions windows does not need.
install
manual partiton:
1 10GB partition for / format ext3
exteneded partion.
1 2xramGB partition for swap
1 big partiton for /home format ext3
leave at least 10GB unalocated to put kde mint in later.(another / partition)

install to 10GB / partition and make big part for /home

once installed and working, updated...:
boot off kde mint cd.
install
manual partition
make 1 partition out of the unalocated space for / format ext3

install to new ext3 partition.
set the swap space to the one already created if not chosen already.
set the big partition to be /home but DO NOT format!!!!

the install will also want to mount the other / ext3 partition so unselect it to keep it simple(blankout).

when the install is finished kde will be the controlling grub menu.lst.
If you update the gnome mint kernel you will have to manually update the kde grub to boot off a new gnome kernel.

clear as mud???

never say die!!!!! :P

As per my last post only lets start again with the mint installs.

Forget about the post with the fstab, in that one we were trying to fix what was already installed but it is way easier to start again.

so boot off the grub mint CD.
use gparted to delete all non-windows required partitions (i think that is all the partitions except the first one: hda1). apply and close.
start install.
manual partition....as per before.
