K3B can't see my blank DVDs?

Post by deki999 »

I can't burn anything, because K3B can't see my blank DVDs, when I insert them.
He can, although, see RW DVD (not empty).

The line in fstab for DVD device looks like this:I
/dev/scd0 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 users,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0

Help!

Not users - user
but that may be a typo when you posted
If that does not help start k3b from a terminal (caution - spell it right) to see if you get any error messages

Typo, yes it is.
I will try with terminal, and call back.

Thanks.

Which DVDs you use is important and the thing is that different burners like different brands

Always the same.
Verbatim DVD-R.

I tried my 20 & some DVDs.
Two of them are readable.(I mean blank, but can be mounted)

I will try DVDs on other machine, or try other DVD device.
Either device or discs are bad !
I'm sooooo angry...

Mint is ok, I supose.

I read in another topic about k3b that you might have to specify what you burn on - tell k3b it's DVD not CD and possibly + and -
as well as R or RW
