Thanks for adding these! I like Vuse a lot and and gwibber looks cool, although I use Tweetdeck via Adobe Air for Twitter. But we need to make sure that Mint has the best (and latest) packages available.

python-apt

I don't know if this is the correct place to ask this question. But what does the python-apt repo include? Does it have python 2.6? I am trying to run a game built on python 2.6 but Mint6 doesn't have 2.6, it has 2.4 installed as default. 2.6 would make this game run a lot smoother as it has the memory leak fixed.

Anyone know where or how I could install python 2.6 in Mint6? Thanks

It has 2.5 as default and 2.6 is in Ubuntu 9.04(Linux Mint 7).

Update:
Updated songbird to 1.1.2.
If you got an update yesterday, you need to update your add-ons.

Clem does firefox, though I don't think he'll do firefox 3.5.
Mainly jaunty won't have 3.5 as it was release with 3.0.
You can't force people to update to a newer release since it may break things they use.
The only updates Firefox gets from ubuntu is security and bug fixes not major releases.

They didn't when 3.0 came out and the release came with 2.0 and 3.0 beta4.

Some apps that have had some significant updates since Gloria's release should be added if possible: Pidgin and Transmission come to mind. Pidgin now includes video and audio for Google Chat, for example. And the included version of Transmission is pretty outdated.

PS - merlwiz79, are you still using Spicebird? I liked it, but have since moved to using iGoogle as my homepage because it does all Spicebird does and 100% more. I guess it's the whole -in the cloud- vs. -on your hard drive- decision...
They'll all look at me and say,
Hey look at him! I'll never live that way.
But that's okay -
They're just afraid to change.
