Well ext4 has data loss problems.Husse wrote:It's still unstable....
Yea it's currently unstable but once stable it looks like it'll be a great filesystem.

I have been running the 2.6.29 kernel on Mandriva Cooker for some while now, no noticeable difference from 2.6.27 on Mint as far as I can see, but I guess that is just me failing to appreciate the subtleties.
Never mind that, if Linus Torvalds thinks he can ditch Tux he is going to end up more widely hated than Fred Goodwin (google it if you don't understand the reference)

If I understand it right tux is not ditched but replaced for some time by the tasmanian devil as a part of a campaign to save it from extinction so tux will be back

Tuz will only be for the kernel 2.6.29 Kernel Cycle.Husse wrote:If I understand it right tux is not ditched but replaced for some time by the tasmanian devil as a part of a campaign to save it from extinction so tux will be back
Then Tux will be back.
I guess some people are afraid of a little change.
Re: Linux Kernel 2.6.29 Includes the Btrfs Filesystem.
Does anyone know if it's possible for me to get my hands on the linux-image and source packages for kernel 2.6.29-1-generic (x86/x86_64). I don't know why, but the default repos in Felicia only allow you to go as high as 2.6.27-14-generic as of today (04/03/2009). I would think that I should be able to at least get the jaunty kernel without modifying sources.list.

Unfortunately, you need to edit your sources.list to do what you want through apt-get.mcurran wrote:I would think that I should be able to at least get the jaunty kernel without modifying sources.list.
