<SOLVED>Beryl Caps & Skydome<SOLVED>

Post by mcrofutt »

Hi all I sure do like my mint. I even made a custom KDE Minty box. Ya'll have done a great job here.
I know this isn't a "Mint" problem, I was hoping someone could give a little help. I've searched beryl's forums and everywhere else I can think of and can't find a solution. My cube caps and my skydome will not change. I've resized a nice picture for the skydome to 2048x1024 and I've pointed beryl to it. I've added my .jpg images to the list for caps and moved them up in the order. I clicked the resize box,,,nothing will change them. Any ideas?
Thanks in advance!
Mark

Your video card's texture-size capability might impose a limit on the skydome image dimensions.

To check your GPU maximums, go Terminal and type...

xvinfo | grep max

You are exactly right!! I found a link to solve this on the Mepis forums. It seems that you also have to remove the default images from the caps list for it to show your images. All's done and I'm marking this as solved.

Edit: Here's the proof!...

Looks like sobering good fun.

I have the caps disabled, and the cube made transparent, so that I may look down and up into the block and see the backsides of the windows.

A nice backside view makes the odd tits-up worthwhile, I say.
