Problems burning DVDs

Post by Lwestlie »

Hey everyone. I have been able to burn CDs no problem but DVDs and DVD+DLs are giving me trouble. I have successfully burnt a DVD using aptoncd but thats the only way I can, and that really isn't all that useful. Neither Nautilus nor Brasero will. Brasero show me that I have a blank dvd inserted but it say 0bytes free space and will not burn.
Thanks for your help in advance.

P.S. I have tried multiple manufactures already

Brasero has given me quite a few headaches in the past. I've never had a problem with it not recongnizing a DVD, but I could never get a DVD burn to complete successfully with Brasero. Have you tried K3B? It works flawlessly for me in Mint. You can install it via mintInstall, or via a terminal by typing:

sudo apt-get k3b

I ended up installing GnomeBaker and that fixed the problem.
Thanks
