Re: Persistent USB boot not working

Post by Sal Marciano »

I'm a new user as of 2 days ago and must say I really like it. The method I used to install it on my USB was http://www.pendrivelinux.com/usb-linux- ... n-windows/ . It didn't require the Live USB Creator. The downside is that I couldn't select the persistence size. I'm quite happy using it. The downside is that it does take a while to boot ......almost as long as a Live CD. I did have firefox freeze on me quite a few times.

But to sum it all up, I like it a lot. Plugins work out the box and the simplicity is a plus! :)

Virtuoso,

Yes, I was able to do that, but Windows can only see the first partition on the drive. It's wierd, though. With Xubuntu on the USB stick, I can see all the files on the drive. With just Ubuntu (or Mint) I can't. So it depends on the configuration of each distro, I guess.
