Re: mp4 to mpg
There may be some degradation in quality but I don't think much
You basically use mencoder and it's a good tool

Re: mp4 to mpg
Handbrake should be able to do this for you as well, if you're interested. Its a wonderful little tool. Just giving you the options. Good luck.
Re: mp4 to mpg
I had a look at handbrake and they have a download for Ubuntu 8.10, I am running Elyssa (8.04), should this still work ?psych1610 wrote:Handbrake should be able to do this for you as well, if you're interested. Its a wonderful little tool. Just giving you the options. Good luck.

Downloaded and tried to install with gdebi but I get dependancy missing message of libgtk2.0.0psych1610 wrote:It does work indeed. I tried it not too long ago.
I do have this installed and also the dev library.
Should I do a force install ?
Any help appreciated
EDIT: OK forget it, I was looking for something - other than tovid - to make dvd from mp4 as the first poster asked. Handbrake is for the reverse
Re: mp4 to mpg
My apologies, I must have read it wrong? I thought handbrake could do what you're asking for as well though.
