Mac Spoof 1.0.1 UPDATED!

Postby Acid_1 on Sat May 02, 2009 4:12 am

A really simple python script that I made to spoof your Mac address (Please comment :)).
Just run the .deb, and to use:

for eth0 (wired):
Code: Select all
sudo mac-spoof-wd

Code: Select all
sudo mac-spoof-wd-config

for wlan0 (wireless):
Code: Select all
sudo mac-spoof-wl

Code: Select all
sudo mac-spoof-wl-config

To restore PC to normal either edit the script to your original Mac or restart your PC. This is not permanent it resets on reboot. You must let nm-applet connect to the network, then close the terminal. I don't know if it'll work if you don't let it connect, and you'll need your WEP key if your doing the wireless, as it will ask you then.

Acid_1,

It is fun figuring out these things, and handy to know. Just be careful playing with stuff like this and don't get yourself in more trouble than you can get out of. :-)

This is useful for ISPs that tie your connection to your computer's MAC address... which makes using other machines on your connection a hassle. I used to do this manually in init.d scripts till I got fed up and got a router.
