Gloria XFCE CE Develoment DELAYED.

Post by merlwiz79 »

My wife's grandfather is dying.
I am leaving today to go home for 10 days(15HR drive) and I have no idea how much this will set me back.
I also have to finish learning the new settings in xfce 4.6.

EDIT: Development is here:

I didn't see this post until today.

Our thoughts are with you and your family during this time. Family comes before all, and I am sure everyone understands. I know I do for sure but that is another story. Take your time brother and be with your wife and family.

Ditto. This is just Linux, it is meaningless compared with real life. Take care of your family, we arent going anywhere.

Oops forgot about my wife's appointments to see what's going to happen with her jaw, so more delays.
I won't get to start until sometime after the 5th.

I would like you to consider to use dusty mod as xfwm theme since it looks more like the default Gloria theme when used with shiki wise...

Dark and wet! Ugh. I live in a part of the world where it is sunny and bright a very good part of the year. I live here because it IS sunny and bright. A dark and wet computer screen scene is not my idea of fun computing. Green for Mint is great. A bright, cheery green for Mint XFCE CE would be superb.

I'm looking forward to Gloria, a cheerful Gloria...

Well it looks like my wife may need to go back and have the knee scope redone.
Also we got the 2nd opinion about her jaw.
They say the best thing would be a total joint replacement.

I think my monitor's cable has a short in it and now Linux doesn't detect the resolution correctly.
It sets it to 800x600 without the nvidia driver.
The nvidia driver sets it to 640x480. :(
I'll see if I can get a new one tomorrow.
So more delays. :(

Taking care of your Wife is your highest priority. Put you Wife first and do not worry about the Xfce CE, we all understand why you need to delay the CE. I hope things get better for your Wife. I can also relate to your hardware problems. The test machine has already had to have the hard drive replaced and to cure it's start up problems, I will eventually have to replace the main board. Foxcomm motherboards are the worst! About every 5 boots the hard drive is not detected.

Total jaw replacement sounds scary to me, you are wise to get a second opinion on something as serious as that.

Our thoughts are with you and your wife.
First things first!
Do what you can for your wife, and forget all about Mint in the meantime.
Focus your energy where it's most useful.
Send her best wishes and hope of a speedy recovery from us all!!!

Hang in there!
