Boot Bianca KDE from USB stick fails halfway

Post by Husse »

I don't have a (working) DVD burner so I put KDE on a USB stick following this post:
http://www.pendrivelinux.com/2007/01/25 ... ubuntu-610
If I choose "USB" from the boot menu and remove the "quiet splash thing" after hitting F6 I get to where it says "Running /scripts/init-bottom"
and it stops with a white blinking dash.
If I choose "live" or "xforcevesa" I get almost to the desktop but my computer does not like the "nv" driver that the live version wants to use so it ends up in graphics error. That's why I wrote the troubleshooter :)
I get this error even with the "xforcevesa" option (??).
When I add "break=bottom" it ends up in a BusyBox and I can't find any text editor needed to edit xorg.conf.
Suggestions?
Is there a text editor that I don't find in the busybox?
