Could not grab your mouse

Postby siva on Wed Jun 03, 2009 12:29 am

Occasionally this error message appears when launching a system app from mint Menu. Is this a joke?...

"Could not grab your mouse. A malicious client may be eavesdropping on your session or you may have just clicked a menu or some application just decided to get focus. Try again."

This message does not always appear and it happens for only one user on the system.
Also Mint Menu remains on screen after launching any application until after another mouse click.
Reinstalling Mint Menu made no difference. Perhaps a coincidence, but this started happening after installing Wine and Wine-Doors.

Is anyone else's mouse not being grabbed? :?

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

This is an error message that appears now and then - not often enough for me to remember what it is but often enough for me to remember the message :)
Ok I checked it's (probably) due to a conflict between Synaptics or something else that needs sudo and the menu

Don't fix it if it ain't broken, don't break it if you can't fix it

I have the same here, since an update a couple of days ago. I can't remember which update, sorry. It seems the solution mentioned in the link Husse supplied, works for me too.
