Flaky Opera?

Post by busbodger »

I love Opera. I have been using it for several years on all the patforms - even my PalmTX.

I'm having a couple of odd issues and wanted to ask if there is a setting that I need to turn off or what???

When i click with my mousewheel sometimes on a link I get taken to odd destinations. Actually I'm intending to click on a link but missing it and clicking in open space on the webpage I am looking at. In the past I think Opera just didn't do anything, now I get some random destination vaguely linked to the topic of the webpage I just left.

My intention is to click on the link and open a tab in the background. If I miss the link (click beside the link) I prefer for nothing to happen.

Thanks! Mint Linux is my FAVORITE Linux distro. Have tried many but Mint is tops!

What's happening is that Opera is taking the content of your clipboard to a new tab on middle click. You can change the middle click behavior by shift-middle click on a web page.

Opera has about a million options doesn't it?

I like the way it can be customized to the nth degree but every once in a while it makes me wonder what it is doing.

Alot like Linux as a whole too!

I am a very happy Linux/Mint/Opera user.

Press F1 to go to the help pages. Also look through the preferences and [url]opera:config[/url] to get familiar with the options.

Edit: Hmm... url tags didn't work...
I also recommend the very friendly Opera forums: http://my.opera.com/community/forums/
