System->Preferences->Theme and choose "Barbara".

It's nothing new technologically. It's called mintDesktop.. a set of little things for you to feel more at ease on the desktop. One of them is a guide that shows you a few tricks.. and the logo thing is one of them.

cool that sounds great. It should really help new users feel more at home on their desktop.
