Recommend a DSL modem purchase in OZ

Post by AshtheFlash »

Hi,

I've got DSL or ADSL running and want to get a modem that will be trouble free for MINT. I'm wondering if there is a product available in OZ that is recommended? ie with as few problems as possible?

I've been given a D-Link DSL-200 and can't even get that going on windows after substantial effort. (Its a USB driven one)

Is it easier to get combined router/modem?

I can get a 2wire 2071-A Modem pretty cheaply and easily but am concerned that it doesn;t seem to be sold outside Australia and can;t find drivers for it.

Is there anything that should just plug in a run?

Once again, advice greatly appreciated.

Ash

Sorry just to clarify based on further research. As long as it has a LAN port and can run over ethernet I should be right? It sounds like its USB connections that cause problems??

Thanks
