Looks like you have the wrong version.
The version you need version 1:1.2.0-1build2, but it was removed because of no one was working on it upstream.

Xorg.conf is really not used anymore, only for settings added to it.
This means it will try to load anything it finds.
You will have to remove xserver-xorg-input-hyperpen so it's not loaded.
You should be looking at the logs to make sure that it's the problem though.
