songs from imeem dont play

Have you replaced flashplugin-nonfree and flashplayer-nonfree with adobe-flashplugin? This one-liner will do it for you, if you have not done so:

sudo apt-get --purge remove flashplayer-nonfree flashplugin-nonfree; apt install adobe-flashplugin

I have tried opening some playlists and playing some tunes on imeem and everything works smoothly.

You made a huge tiny mistake; a typo.

There shouldn't be a space separating "--" and "purge". Fix that, and you'll be good to roll.
