--if so, then it is the preferences within your browser(home page), or the addons that are not correct
There is no connection reason, if everything works including pings why one IP-name address (
http://www.google.com) doesn't, because DNS problems (IP-name mapping) is more general than that,
check the google IP address
--in a terminal on your system
ping http://www.google.co, try that address in the firefox location bar, do you get a
response or not..
checking the data
--in the terminal
- ping ww.google.com
- nslookup http://www.google.com
- Contents of the /etc/resolv.conf file, it should only include your nameserver/gateway, if you are using dhcp connection (automatic)
- Try the IP addresses returned, do you connect to http://www.google.com search page ?
