a minor problem, more an improvement,
but would be appreciated if one of the experts had a hint:
If I log in at Mint 7 Gloria:
sometimes it connects directly to the wireless network, as expected...
but sometimes... nothing! Then after more or less long wait,
seems to be a timeout? it starts to connect...
Is there somewhere a setting to find, which could correct this?

Re: startup wireless
Does this lack of quick conection result after a complete reboot or a suspend or a hibernate?
Re: startup wireless
I only talk about complete reboot!
Here I observe these different behaviour:
the "normal"
and the "enervating"

Re: startup wireless
in the meantime I think, it happens like this:
if mintUpdate is to fast, there is not yet a connection,
so it goes to a delay of 30 sec, and blocking the wireless!!
next then, mintUpdate wait for 5 min, and
here the wireless is able to connect...
so my question: where and how can mintUpdate be delayed
after startup, for about 5 min??
Any idea?

Re: startup wireless
The Ubuntu servers can sometimes be notoriously slow, I suspect that is the problem.
Re: startup wireless
mintupdate>Edit>Preferences>auto refresh TAB or Update method TAB, or both TABs..
--changing update connection timing..
--changing update connection timing..
Re: startup wireless
That happens to me with my wireless laptop. I just manually select the wireless option after getting to the desktop. I am not in a hurry so not an issue with me.

Re: startup wireless
what I tried: start up services, disable of
- mint Update
- bluetooth
- samba
but no effect!!
So still I would like to know: after login, why mint is not
immediately connecting to wireless???
