how do i add the wifi and system update icons to a panel?

how do i add the wifi and system update icons to a panel?

i accidentally removed it from my panel while trying to remove a different icon and now i can't seem to find where to add it, does anyone know where i can get it back?

For the system update one: right click on panel, add to panel, application launcher, find mintUpdate and add it.
For the wireless one I have no idea - someone else?

Perhaps you should verify that the "Notification Area" is added back to the panel.
Current hardware: a Dell OptiPlex 3010 desktop, a Dell Inspiron 531 desktop, and a Dell Inspiron 1545 laptop.
