You may want to consider VLC Media Player, it has streaming capabilities. http://www.videolan.org/vlc/
You can also get it from Mint Install

Hence why I mentioned VLC Media Player. It can act as a media server and client. So if you have it on your Windows box, it can act as a media server, while on Mint, you can use it as a media client.
Other than that, I am not too sure how to go about it. I did some searches on Google, and haven't come up with anything other than VLC.
