Hi,

This is a great suggestion. Thanks a lot for that.

This one is good as well

While I agree that YaST did a good job in making a control center, the pclinuxos control center, reworked from the Mandriva center, is wonderful. Not as convoluted as YaST and easily navigated and understood. Just my two cents.

anyone got change for a nickle...and no, phennings are not accepted/

LOL

I have to echo your yast sentiments. I was never able to get myself to run suse for any period of time. I just got fed up with yast and some other little pains.

I think what we need to do is find out exactly what folks are trying to do that can't already be done and create individual tools to populate the Administration menu.

A lot of things can be done using bash and just use zenity as the graphical frontend for input and info.

Oh yeah! I am a long-time SUSE user (since 1996 !!) but the control center in Mandriva 2007.0 ("Mandriva One") totally stunned me!! That thing is awesome!

It would be really really extremely very nice if we could have some luxury thing like that in Linux Mint.

Yast or Mandriva control centre would be fine. Either one - both are excellent.

Adding the mandriva stuff would be my choice since we could then easily add drakxtools and mklivecd which would make remastering mint a breeze. I'm already looking at drakxtools and mklivecd for Mint but having the rest of the mandriva stuff would make this a no brainer.
