Which OS is the host for burning from the Mint *.iso file ?

If that also has an issue, you can try xfburn, which uses a different library than either k3b or brasero or gnomebaker etc.. (not Wodim)

  • Xfburn is a simple CD/DVD burning tool based on libburnia libraries. It can blank CD-RWs, burn and create iso images, as well as burn personal compositions of data to either CD or DVD.
--also it seems that some distributions need to be burned at slower speeds, such as 4x
