A while back, I experienced problems with wifi using the live cd of Bianca. I gave up because, Ubuntu on which it is based, runs my wifi live without problems. I did however notice that Mint live seemed to run slightly quicker than Ubuntu. I really wanted to set up a working Mint box on my PIII Thinkpad with Netgear WG511T for comparison with Ubuntu. I downloaded pre 3.0 Cassandra, then ran it live, and once again no wifi. I downloaded Madwifi and had it on tap ready to compile to the mint kernel. During the hard drive install, my Netgear card began roaming. Configuring the network was straight forward. Just remember that if you are using Madwifi, your cards extension is ath0, ath1 depending on how many madwifi devices you are using.
