Quotations in Terminal in Gloria ( Solved)

Post by dnmint »

In Elyssa & Felicia, during installation there was an option not have quotations in Terminal.
In Gloria 64 bit such an option was not offered.
How do I disable that option
Thanks

one way is to edit /etc/bash.bashrc and comment out the mint-forturne call on the last line.

comment out this line:
/usr/bin/mint-fortune

if you put a # at the front of the line, the line becomes a comment and will not be executed/run.
you have to edit it as root so use sudo, eg. in a terminal, sudo gedit /etc/bash.bashrc

or you can delete that line.

Either place a comment mark/character as # at the front of that line or delete it entirely and you won't get the fortune cookie saying on the screen
http://debaday.debian.net/2007/04/01/fo ... s-for-all/
# /usr/bin/mint-fortune

It says when I close the window 'Save'. I click on 'Save'. It says I have no right to save or someting like that
What do I do?

you have to edit it as root so use sudo, eg. in a terminal, sudo gedit /etc/bash.bashrc
As quoted above. (type the green text into a terminal)
