May I just congratulate the Mint team on possibly the best KDE4 distribution to date.

Downloaded, installed, and runs perfectly here. Thank you again.

Congratulations!!!!! I look forward to trying it out. One question; probably just me , but is there a x64 edition of this. I can't for the life of me see a x64 download link.

This is kind of important as I use Mint as my main OS, virtualizing Windows Vista etc (thus I want to make use of my 8Gb RAM). If it comes to the point where I consider KDE4.2 stable enough for me to replace the normal Gnome version then I would be looking for this.

Like I said it's probably me looking in the wrong place!!!!!!

I have installed Linux Mint 7 'Gloria' KDE on my 32 bit backup machine and I am very impressed. This is a very top quality distribution. Very Happy!

My main machine is an Amd triple core Phenom. It's a 64 bit system and I do a lot of video and audio work. I know that there is no 64 bit KDE version of Gloria. Very Sad! :(

Maybe in the future.

Thanks,
Eddie

Hello all,

Download now, but I'm surprised to see that it's over a gig. Why with the KDE CE almost double the size of the regular old Gnome? Kubuntu isn't double the size of Ubuntu, so I'm a little surprised. I was kind of counting on it being one gig to load on this one gig stick I have. My 1 gig stick is really only 900 some-odd megs. So I guess I'll have to get a new OS stick... for installing OS' on.

because you haven't turned up the volume :-P
click on the icon in the systembar and then on mixer and turn the volume up.
at the amarok-window there is another volume bar -> top right

NO 64 bit KDE version of Gloria? Aw, that's disappointing. That's a showstopper for me as my desktops are 64-bit.

I suppose I could try Mint 7, Gloria on my laptop, though, which is an older Thinkpad.

Great to hear! Is there a way to get KDE from within Gnome like Kubuntu and just switch between them?

So where's Broadcom-STA? I've tried compiling it myself, but what a PITA!
