Which login screen, the windows one or the Linux one ?

OK, sounds like a bootloader issue/partition/configuration issue, too many chainloads +1 entries perhaps..
ctrl alt del is simply a restart in Linux, including Linux mint7, and can actually pop up the shutdown menu, if you enter that key combination within the desktop
--it is also a way to shutting down the system if it hangs up..

And since mint4win is a VM (Virtual Machine), like virtualbox or Vmware, then the configuration of mint within that VM becomes important..
