Connectivity graph
Been searching with no luck for an application that can produce a 24-hr graph of internet connectivity (cable modem via wired router). This is to give substance to complaints to the ISP about the coming and going of the connection. So, I just want to see when the Internet connection was up or down in a given period. System monitor's graph only shows the recent history. Hope I have been clear. Any suggestions much appreciated.

Re: Connectivity graph
I'd probably suggest vnstat or something similar as a log of activity and speed rating at your endHerbivore wrote:Been searching with no luck for an application that can produce a 24-hr graph of internet connectivity (cable modem via wired router). You will only really be able to see your side (client connection ) directly
--there are some ISP bandwidth traffic monitors available (mainly for ISPs'); which is probably what they match their rating against, it will just be an average rate, and as we know average doesn't mean much with large-low user spreads; it distorts the rating speed, so that it will look better than it really is..

The standard tools are mrtg and nagios/nmap

Others are available, which probably use parts of mrtg (for graphs)

Or just leave an IP monitor running

Re: Connectivity graph
Thanks, DrHu. I will look in to all those to find one which I can understand enough to produce the connectivity graph for a given period of time. Will post a Solved if successful.
