vpn help, again, please

Postby Lazlo on Sat Aug 08, 2009 4:27 am

Hi another new boy here.

I need to configure a pptp vpn to my isp and then tunnel my internet connection via the vpn. I have installed both linux-pptp and network-manager-pptp under Mint 7 XFCE, however, when I open network manager I cannot see anywhere to enter configuration details for a vpn. Is there something else I need to do?

I've already read a lot of threads about this, but until I can actually see where I have to configure the changes...

Thanks

Linux Mint is funded by ads and donations.

Thank you for the help, the answer was in the first link you provided. It seems I needed to install network-manager-gnome in addition to the other components.

I have a further question, if I may. Do I need to have a network connection established before I can use a vpn? The reason I ask is because I have configured the vpn but when I select it, nothing happens.

Thanks again

How do you get back to the VPN connection in Windows 7? I created a VPN connection in Windows 7, but now I cant figure out how to get back to it to edit it.
