Filesystems don't magically change unless you have specifically reformatted that partition to fat16. If you did that then your files are probably unrecoverable.bart wrote:... but my slave drive has now changed from ntfs to fat16 have i lost all the files on this drive? or are they recoverable.
Insert and boot from the Mint Live CD, open a terminal and type:
sudo fdisk -l
and show us the output so we can see what partitions you now have.
