Check the upper left corner of your menu. Is there a small box visible? If there is, click on it and it will disappear . This should solve your problem. If not, check here:

Hi,
I am using mint-7 and it doesn't recognize built in mouse on my acer aspire notebook. On the other hand, it recognize a USB mouse.
While I was installing mint-7, I have attached usb mouse instead of built-in synaptic mouse. It may caused to this ?
What is solution, any comments? thanks..
