Make sure all the files exist, that's all I can thinkgecko91 wrote:Ok, I think that I'm getting somewhere. I booted from the live cd on another computer and connected my computer as a disk. I can edit the menu.lst file from there. There was only one option in the menu.lst file, not sure why:
I tried adding this:Code: Select all
title Linux Mint 7 Gloria, memtest86+ root (hd0,2) kernel /boot/memtest86+.bin quiet
When I choose this option on boot I get Error 15: File not found.Code: Select all
title Linux Mint 7 Gloria root (hd0,2) kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.28-11-generic root=/dev/sda3 ro quiet splash initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic
boot stuck on memtest

Re: boot stuck on memtest
It should be there. That file is Linux itself, without it, you're not going to get anywhere :p
Are there any other files beginning with vmlinuz (or some variation on that)?
If not, you'll probably have to reinstall Mint. I have no idea how that might have happened.
